Bridges of the Seine

"Until the XVIth century, only 2 bridges were known : the Grand Pont (North of the City) and the Petit Pont (South). They were built in wooden, and were very often destroyed by the ices, the spates and the fire. It is only in the XVIIth century that the technics of construction were improved and 7 bridges were built. 3 of them still exist : the pont-Neuf, the Pont Marie and the pont Royal. Nowadays, about 30 bridges decorated the City of Paris."
